Fire of Autumn

About

The same upward view through two trees as Early Autumn Days, but deeper into the season. The greens are gone entirely. In their place: a blaze of yellow at the top, burning through orange and into dark red at the bottom, the fallen leaves carpeting the ground below the branches.

The two prints were conceived together — companions to each other, showing the same trees, the same viewpoint, but weeks apart. Fire of Autumn is the louder of the two; the palette is intense, almost urgent, as if the trees know what is coming and are giving everything before they do.
