About
This print looks upward through the canopy of two trees — their dark branches spreading across the image like cracks in the sky, the leaves between them a wash of green and gold and orange. The viewpoint gives it an intimacy and immediacy; you are standing underneath, looking up into the turning season.
The colour is where I spent most of my time. Early autumn holds both summer and what is coming at once — green still present but the yellows and oranges already breaking through. I wanted that layered quality, the sense of the year in transition rather than fully committed to either state.
