About
This print looks down onto a sweeping bay from above — the vivid turquoise sea meeting a sandy shore, dark rocks in the foreground, mountains receding into the distance. The view has a sense of scale and openness that took a long time to resolve in the carving: getting the layering of water, sand, and land to read clearly while keeping the energy of the sea alive.
The title comes from the book of Job: I placed the sand as a boundary for the sea. It felt like exactly the right words for what the image shows — that ancient, ongoing negotiation between water and shore, the way the sea pushes forward and is always, eventually, turned back by the land.
